Lois and Frank Mahon of L and F Mahon Consulting Services

Lois and Frank Mahon have spent their careers working in not-for-profit agencies geared toward children’s services. They specialize in guiding, directing, and supporting not-for-profit agencies, individuals, and systems in their pursuit of excellence. Lois & Frank Consulting Services, through its collective resources and expertise, provides effective tools to enhance the overall efficiency of the agency or system. They like to have fun and shake things up to get people out of their comfort zones and get the creative ideas flowing. They make the process focused yet fun, to allow agencies and individuals to prosper and reach their organizational goals.  Facilitating workshops with LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Methods have allowed them to create multiple road-maps to meet a large variety of agency needs.

Lois and Frank bought the 3D Diagnostic cards based on LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Methods to use when helping teams to enhance their function, productivity, and well-being. It is often difficult for team members to identify or label what they see as the barriers, conflicts, or other matters leading to dysfunction.

“We anticipated the cards would help individuals; however, we had no idea how effective they would be. Every time we use these cards we see the team as a whole acknowledging the problem behaviors. This is followed by candid and frank discussions. Even the introverts participate and everyone has thanked us for the opportunity to finally get to the heart of the matter.”

Lois and Frank discovered the cards help individuals to be honest and candid about their team’s challenges. The cards help to expose the elephant in the room so the team members can find ways to address it. Lois and Frank have used the cards successfully a number of times. In one instance, a team that was dealing with workplace bullying used the cards to identify the problems and barriers. Utilizing LSP activities, the team created a Code of Conduct everyone was committed to following. Individuals expressed their amazement at the amount of progress the team made in such a short period of time.

“Thank you so much, Steve and Jacquie, for creating this valuable tool! It is a resource we will use many times and we know it will continue to help us help others in their pursuit of excellence!”
