Merriam-Webster defines resilience as: An ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.
As children, we built resilience through play—learning how to handle challenges, experiment, and recover from small setbacks. But as we grew, the play slowed and eventually it might have stopped.
And now as adults, we might find it more difficult to cope with setbacks. Recovery might be harder than it should be. A lack of resilience is affecting workers at all levels, including leaders.
Resilient-minded leaders not only navigate challenges themselves—they set the tone for their teams. They can reframe obstacles and problems as challenges. They use creative ideas to come up with multiple options. They don't get discouraged by setbacks and pause and rebound effectively.
If you'd like to improve your own skills, you're in luck! We're about to unveil our new advanced training:
Building Resilience with the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method.
The first certification training will be live in Hong Kong, May 25 – 26, directly following Play Conference 2026.
