Matt Jones is a doctoral candidate in Technology & Organizational Leadership at Purdue University. His research and studies have been in education and leadership development focusing on topics such as creative problem-solving, cognitive diversity, agile strategy, and how structured play influences perceptions of trust in teams. Matt has spent the last 10 years teaching and training international audiences in creativity and innovation. He is a certified Master Facilitator in LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Methods and Licensed LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Methods Trainer.
His efforts in research and teaching have awarded him the distinguished Ross Fellowship and he was recently inducted as an Associate Fellow of the Purdue Teaching Academy.
He is a contributing author for the book, Biohacking Leadership: Leveraging the Biology of Behavior to Maximize Your Impact, which the UK's Human Resources Magazine named one of the best books of 2025. His contributions to this book were in the early-stage research phase and, later, to develop a neurobiological case for play as a key leadership trait. He is a certified AEM-Cube® Practitioner, FourSight™ Mindset facilitator, and Strategic Doing™ Practitioner. This has enabled him to develop unique expertise in team dynamics in creative and strategic environments.
He and his wife, Allyse, have three daughters and one lovable tom cat. If Matt is not playing with LEGO® with his kids, you can find him in his backyard with his chickens.
