What's
needed to run the simulation exercise?
The Protean Strategist can be played by either four, five or
six management teams in direct competition with each other. The competing
companies will require headquarters space, computer systems and other
office supplies. Let's look at the details:
Headquarters

Each of the four, five or six simulation teams should have a break-out
room capable of accommodating a conference table for 5 or 6 people,
along with a desk for a computer, monitor and printer.

A separate simulation administration room should be set up with one
computer and two fast printers.
The
break-out rooms and administration room should be close to each other,
and must be available for computer set-up the day preceding the start
of the simulation.
Computer
systems
-
Each breakout room should have a PC or laptop equipped with a hard
disk, USB ports, 17" monitor (15" laptop screen is okay), and a mouse.
The computers should have Windows XP installed along with MS Office.

The simulation administration room should have one PC or laptop with
the same specifications as above. In addition, there should be two
fast laser printers in this room (equivalent of 35ppm printing speed
or better).
All
computer equipment must be installed the day preceding the start of
the simulation.
